We plan to launch in early July, which is when we anticipate the paper currency will be ready for circulation. Between now and then we will host a number of pre-launch meetings for businesses and community groups. We expect to have at least 50 businesses registered by early July, which translates into about cw$100k for community orgs and cw$10k for development.
We haven't yet done any serious advertising or promotion. That will soon change as we gear up for for the Vancouver Island Music Fest July 10-12.
Project development is funded through business registrations in cw$, not subsidies from government, philanthropic agencies or individuals. A few people have invested time, a few hundred in cash, and printing services for promo material, to be recovered as cw$ begin to flow.
