My point exactly, Sepp...and then so good to join in smaller rings of discussion. Thanks Sarah for joining, so good to see you here. Look forward to your pearls to share...No pressure ;-)

Well, I'll leave that to your architectural sense then ;)

My view was that of a large piazza that is sparsely populated with small groups and some individuals.

If you're standing out in the open, chances are that someone will come over and join your conversation.

If you get into a little cubicle, there is less of a chance of others coming to inquire what's in there...

Thanks, Sepp for joining. Whenever I come here, I tend to find something to do, something to respond to. Don't really know the actual volume of the traffic, but a unique visitor if only visits something one, it can make all the difference. As a trained architect I look at it differently. Public halls are fine, but little corners and alcoves are needed for refuge and reflection perhaps. And taken the public metaphor one step further: When there are only a little trickle of people in a large hall or broad corridor, your tend to congregate even more so along the sideways and inlets.

I joined (the Kind Hearted Resources group) but I must say I find groups in the context of ning sites more than a bit dispersive. I think that they are useful when traffic on the general group gets too heavy to follow. Then you can concentrate on only following one or a few groups.

As it is on open money.ning, there is little traffic to begin with, and the group, if I understand its function right, is to ulteriorly segment that traffic by only letting group members know what is going on within the group.
