"What are the costs?"
Costs are limited to direct expenses in making this event possible.
The cost is $850 USD per person, it covers meals, lodging,
transportation to and from the event site and our group activities.
The organizing team has been working hard to find an inexpensive
yet inspiring space near Mexico City, surrounded by nature and
beauty, with internet connection and all facilities. We are still
in the process of finding financial support so the price may even
be cheaper.
"Can I come part of the time?"
We understand that some folks who are committed to open money can't take a whole week out of their schedules at this time, so we have planned an exit point of March 7th for those who need to leave sooner. If for some reason you can`t come on the 3rd please contact us directly.
"Will this be focused specifically on Open Money?"Absolutely. Open money is the main focus of this event. However, it can't be the only thing we do, because, for example, we have to practice our collective intelligence skills to be able to work well together. We have to eat well to nourish our bodies, and we have to play to nourish our souls!
"Will this be a global forum for those involved in alternative monetary systems or exploration of wealth to share their work?"Definitely not. That would be an idea sharing conference. Such conferences often lead to divergence. We want this to be a convergent workshop that builds an open money working group that will persist by sharing the deep experiences of working together. Sharing ideas, in our experience, cannot substitute for sharing co-creative effort.
"What is the meeting's intended outcome?"Possible specific outcomes may be:
1. Read, learn, participate in the pre-learning events
2. Contribute cash to make the event possible for those who could come except for lack of cash.
3. Stay in touch here!
Please tell us other ways you feel led to contribute.
"What is the pre-learning phase?"
"Who is already actively working on the project?"
Jean-François Noubel: Founder of TheTransitioner, collective intelligence researcher, and open money advocate.
Eric Harris-Braun: Software designer, and open money platform architect
Fernanda Ibarra: Global Collective intelligence practitioner. Collaborates with TheTransitioner and open money.
Michael Linton: Designer of the core open-money multi-currency architecture, as well as LETSystems and other tools for community development.
Ernie Yacub: Co-developer with Michael since 1995, particularly on community way and the perpetual money machine.
Geoff Cheshire: Software designer, and open money platform architect (see regenerosity).
Les Moore: Spreading the concepts through LETSplay in schools in Europe and community projects in East London.
Being Essence: Is an organization practicing wealth acknowledgment and preparing the ground for the intensive in Mexico (all logistics etc).
"Is there funding available to support our travel and expenses?"
So far there is not. We are holding the intention that someone will feel called to make such funding a reality (either by offering it, or by locating it) as a commitment to the open money project.
