Dear Martien: was there any advances with the Ahead of the Game people? ... any how I would love to connect with you in relation to Aarde. I am doing a project called ICON with began as a conscious community and are very interested in people developing larger scale projects in this vein. I also know others who are creating towns. I am deeply connected to TheTransitioner.org so the ground of my work comes from collective intelligence, wisdom and consciousness. We are currently working in what we call wisdom-driven organizations.

Hi Martien, did you see the DGC Magazine on community currencies. Its an amazing compilation!
There is a piece on open money with all the links to the work.

There are also new video pieces from the Mexico intensive. ;-)

Hi Martien,

I am sure I came across the name of pekunio before, so I liked to see your description of the project. Pity it wasn't selected, as you say.

Wonder if you would see such an architecture (distributed, redundant archiving) as applicable in the larger context of backing up the internet.

I asked that question in another ning group on p2p -

Backing up the internet in a P2P 'cloud'

Martien, I'm very interested in the conference you are proposing called "Geld als Water" (Money like Water). I would like to get involved.

Regarding synergy/competition, I think of Regenerosity as a test-bed for new ideas. In the end, it's a chicken/egg question; design/implement/test/review is a cyclical process, with simultaneous progress in all four sectors.

Status of Pekunio is that it is a project proposal for a project for 10 CS students from the Utrecht University. Unfortunately, Pekunio was not selected. So it remains a wish, a desire. Another project, Social Trading Game from the Strohalm Foundation, and based on Cyclos, has been selected.

Doesn't matter, though. I'm sure a fully distributed self-organizaing and self-healing architecture and solution will finally emerge. It's so natural, it's inevitable.

See also Geoff's comment below. Not sure how it relates (synergizes or competes) with the Open Money and reference implementation.

Would love to see a "blogosphere" kind of succes for open money.

BTW, are you familar with qoin.nl? Also based on Cyclos.
